Healthy, Wealthy & Wise

Week Three
“Silence is the sleep that nourishes wisdom.” – Francis Bacon

Spend the last thirty minutes of your day without technology. In our society today, screen time seems to be an unavoidable constant. But, scrolling through your Facebook timeline late at night or binge-watching Netflix before bed have some serious health effects. Most notably, the light from the screen severely worsens your sleep. This week, set out to spend the last half-hour of your day technology-free – you may be surprised by the results.

“If you want to be healthy, finish your day technology-free.”

Start paying in cash. A large proportion of people nowadays, namely millennials, make the overwhelming majority of purchases via debit and credit cards. While convenient, this habit renders us more prone to unnecessary expenditures. Think about how you felt the last time you swiped your credit card; it likely felt better than the last time you had to hand over a wad of cash! Start carrying cash, and you’ll begin to save more than you expect.

Spend some time in silence. Spending time alone, in silence, is a crucial part of our well-being. It provides us with an opportunity to recharge our mental energy, increase our patience and re-gain focus. As challenging as it may seem, push yourself to spend at least a few minutes per day this week in complete silence – simply accompanied by the sound of your own breathing.

“If you want to be wise, spend some time in silence.”

To our readers,

We hope that you are ready for a challenging week. We can’t wait to achieve these goals with you.¬†

Humbly yours,

Leo and Yasna
